Rangin Arts Gallery ShopRangin Arts Gallery
Selling from AfghanishtanRangin Art Gallery owner Zohra Ali Haidari says her interest in the arts dates back to her childhood. Despite studying midwifery, Haidari’s artistic talent was reignited by the late Nader Ali Yousofi, one of her professors at Kabul University. Professor Yousofi encouraged Haidari to open an art studio early in her career. She selected the symbolic name, Rangin in the memory and teachings of the professor who originally named the studio. Haidari has been a professional artist for over a decade and inspires the next generation by passing on techniques taught to her by her beloved professor. Rangin Art Gallery has expanded steadily since its inception. Haidari keeps herself busy mentoring thirty students, bringing skill and enthusiasm to every aspect of art practice. Although her primary focus is on illustrations, she also draws and paints portraits in watercolor, charcoal, graphite, and acrylic paints. Most of her students use oil paints, but she prefers acrylics. Haidari's artwork stands out among Afghan artists due to her distinct point of view and the subjects she chooses. Haidari believes that most Afghan artwork depicts sadness, devastation, and hopelessness while art should also bring joy, and her paintings are full of life. Haidari's company is a sole proprietorship based on students’ artworks. Students benefit from learning new skills while the gallery earns money. Haidari hopes to grow the gallery by acquiring new clients and increasing sales. She hopes to have a larger facility where more students and teachers can learn and practice different art techniques. Finally, she hopes to portray Afghanistan in a new light that captures its true beauty and culture.
