Narsees Cloth's Design ShopNarsees Cloth's Design
Selling from AfghanishtanNarsees Cloth's Design is a women-owned designer clothing brand based in Kabul, Afghanistan. The brand was founded by Ghazal Nayab in 2018 after she completed her bachelor's degree in law and political science from Azad University in Iran. Applying her law and political science background, Nayab went to work creating a business to benefit Afghanistan's economy and empower women to be vital participants in Afghan markets. She realized that the best way to accomplish both of these goals was to tap into pre-existing market pathways in the artisan sector and hire women to sew handmade clothing. Early on, she created a charitable foundation teaching tailoring, sewing, embroidery and educational literacy. After nearly two years of constant efforts by Nayab and her hardworking tailoring volunteers, the charitable project, Tanzib, was rebranded as Narsees Cloth's Design. Narsees is located in one of Kabul's many market districts. The business employs over ten women who are engaged in handmade clothing production. All the materials used in Narsees' clothing are sustainably sourced from local Afghan sellers. This regional, sustainable approach to clothing production not only empowers individual women artisans but also improves other sectors of Afghanistan's commerce market. The clothing designs from Narsees blend classic, traditional, and modern industrial styles. The brand plans to start embroidering leather to incorporate into its clothing designs shortly. While Narsees has participated in various exhibitions and showcases within the country to advertise the brand, it has yet to reach consumers outside of local demographics. The brand is self-sustaining enough for Nayab to launch a sibling NGO, Capacity Building for Afghan Women, through which various jobs for Afghan women will be created. The new NGO will further Nayab's mission through the education, training, and hiring of women at her business and others. Nayab is honored for the Narsees Cloth's Design brand to join the Aseel platform, and she remains excited to share her handmade products globally that empower Afghan women.
