As thousands of Afghan returnees cross back into the country through Torkham, they face not only uncertainty and displacement — but also extreme dust, heat, and poor hygiene conditions. The harsh environment at the border, combined with the lack of basic sanitary items, puts people at high risk of illness and infection. To address this urgent need, we are launching a campaign to distribute hygiene kits to returnees. These kits will include essential items such as soap, toothpaste, sanitary pads, towels, disinfectant, and other basic hygiene supplies, helping individuals and families protect themselves from diseases caused by unclean conditions.
