Ramadan is much more than refraining from food and drink. It is very important to understand what Ramadan symbolizes. It’s a time to spiritually connect and strengthen that connection. It’s a time to appreciate your blessings by going through what the needy and poor goes through almost every day! It’s a perfect time to DONATE! We are raising money to help poor families in Kabul by buying them basic food items like rice, flour, oil, pulses, and sugar. Our team of volunteers is in Kabul. They have identified over 800 families in dire need of your support. To the best of our knowledge, all these families are Zakat eligible. Our team has physically visited every family in our database and will be distributing food packages ourselves. At your request, we can provide full information about these families. Charity averts calamity and increases sustenance and blessings in one’s life. Allah says in the Qur’an, “Who is it that would loan Allah a goodly loan so He may multiply it for him many times over? And it is Allah who withholds and grants abundance, and to Him you will be returned” (Qur’an, 2: 245). The Prophet (peace be upon him) said “Sadaqah extinguishes sin as water extinguishes fire” (Hadith, Tirmidhi). Every donation, every dollar, every penny counts.
