About Campaign

Anwar, a 108-year-old man, lives with his wife in a family of five members, in Daikundi province. His occupation is farming, but due to recent droughts and a lack of sufficient water for agriculture, he lost all his crops this year. He mentioned that his sons used to work as construction laborers, striving hard to make a living. He added that last year during the holy month of Ramadan, his two sons worked on demanding construction jobs from after breaking their fast until 10 a.m. the next day. Due to excessive and continuous work, combined with not eating nutritious food, his eldest son lost both of his kidneys. As a result, the younger son donated one of his kidneys to save his elder brother's life. The kidney transplant was conducted at Khatam-ul-Nabiyyin Hospital in Kabul, costing them between 1.5 to 2 million Afghanis. Unable to afford such a large sum, they borrowed the money from relatives, neighbors, and local elders, leaving them in severe financial distress, with creditors now demanding repayment. Anwar expressed deep concern about his sons' health. The doctors recommended providing both sons with nutritious food to ensure the transplant's success. However, Anwar's family cannot afford the specialized diet suggested by kidney transplant specialists. Additionally, his son requires medication, which costs between 15,000 and 20,000 Afghanis per month—a cost Anwar cannot bear. He described his life as increasingly difficult under these circumstances.

My name is Mohsin Azizi, a passionate learner and community-oriented individual. I graduated from Sang-e-Mom High School, excelling as a grade 12 student. During my school years, I actively pursued self-improvement, learning advanced English through the ACCESS Micro-scholarship Program and the Nili Star Educational Center. Among 170 classmates, I was honored to receive a micro-scholarship to study in India for 21 days in 2018, where I further honed my language, media, and digital literacy skills. In 2010, I passed the Kankoor exam and began studying at the Computer Technology Institute. Unfortunately, financial challenges forced me to leave. However, my determination to make a difference never wavered. For over two years, I volunteered as a teacher with the Afghan Red Crescent Society (ARCS), using my skills to educate and inspire others. My journey reflects resilience, dedication, and a deep commitment to personal growth and community service. I look forward to continuing this path and contributing positively to society.
