Selling from Afghanishtan

Shabana Hashim, a 33-year-old entrepreneur from Kunar province of Afghanistan, dreamed of showcasing the intricate craftsmanship of her homeland to the world. Raised in a family where crafting was a way of life, Shabana learned the art of bead embroidery from her elders. Though she had only completed high school, her passion for creating beautiful handcrafted items was unparalleled. With the support of her family, she decided to start her own business, Omrah. Shabana founded her brand, Omrah, specializing in bead embroidery on plastic and leather bags of all kinds. She employs three skilled artisans who envision bringing Afghan craftsmanship to the global stage. Sourcing materials from various mines across Afghanistan, they meticulously craft bags, purses, pen trays, and home decor accessories. With around 100 to 300 handmade items on offer, Shabana's brand is ready to attract attention beyond Afghanistan's borders. Omrah offers a unique blend of traditional Afghan designs infused with a modern touch alongside original creations inspired by the rich cultural heritage of Afghanistan. "For amazing art, our staff have it," she declared, emphasizing the talent and dedication of her team. Quality is important for Shabana and her team. Each piece undergoes rigorous procedures to ensure it meets the highest standards. "We prioritize not only the designs but quality too, keeping our customers' demands at the top," she added. Despite the challenges they face, Shabana and her team envision their handmade creations adorning homes and shelves across the globe, bringing financial stability to the skilled artisans who poured their hearts into each piece. "We aim to sell all our Afghan handmade products all over the world."
