Mirwais Yaqoubi, the owner and founder of Almas Fashion, has been working as a tailor for the past decade. He graduated high school, but he had to end his academic pursuits to focus on his work due to hardships. Before Mirwais began working, he was trained as an apprentice tailor for three years. Mirwais Yaqobi founded Almas Fashion in 2017, and prior to that, Mirwais worked in a partnership where he learned more about handling a business professionally. He was inspired by this experience to open his own shop and workspace so that he could fully realize his goal of creating distinctive and stylish wearable clothing for women. Almas Fashion employs nine people: Mirwais and his brother are the head tailors, and the other seven are their apprentices. Almas Fashion designs clothing such as Gande Afghani, hand-embroidered dresses, ceremonial dresses, formal and casual wear, and embroidered bags made by Afghan women artisans working from home. The designs' uniqueness, quality, and authenticity distinguish Almas Fashion products from other brands. The brand makes most of its money from custom orders, prioritizing customer satisfaction. Mirwais envisions creating jobs for others in his community and showcasing Afghan culture, tradition, and handmade products to the world. Moreover, the brand and others benefit economically from the development and growth of Almas Fashion. This was important to him to give back to Afghan communities, coming from the hardships he did as a youth. By partnering with Aseel, Mirwais wants to increase his sales, find customers worldwide, and display authentic Afghan culture and tradition. He brings his experience as a tailor who designs beautiful clothing, his experience with customer satisfaction, and his desire to impact the communities around them so that all who wish to be a part of Alma Fashion can benefit from his business.
