Paya Art Gallery

Selling from Afghanishtan

Sayed Jawad Ahmad Paya, driven by his love for art, founded the Paya Art Gallery in 2012 to help promote art education and cultural development in Afghanistan. After graduating from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Kabul University, he decided to dedicate his life to both creating art and teaching it. He now teaches at the Institute of Fine Arts, where he helps guide young artists in their journey. One of the most unique things about Paya is that he was among the first to organize street art exhibitions in Afghanistan, bringing art to the streets and making it accessible to everyone. This helped young Afghan artists share their work with a wider audience and made art more approachable to people who may not have been exposed to it before. The Paya Art Gallery has been active for over 12 years and has become an important part of the art community in Afghanistan. It’s not just a place for displaying art, but also a space where young artists can learn, grow, and express themselves. Through various workshops and exhibitions, the gallery helps raise awareness about the value of art and encourages the development of new talent in the country. Paya’s gallery plays a key role in shaping Afghanistan’s cultural landscape by providing opportunities for local artists to showcase their work and improve their skills. He aims to ensure that art continues to thrive in Afghanistan, inspiring the next generation to carry on the tradition and contribute to the nation’s rich artistic heritage.
