Anisa Afghan is a hardworking woman and a kind mother who lives with her six children in extremely difficult conditions, far from what one would call a normal life. She is the sole breadwinner of the family and the caretaker of her sick daughter who is battling leukemia.
The survey conducted at Anisa’s place was truly heartbreaking. She and her children live in a single room that doesn’t even have a door—they are forced to enter and exit through the window. There are no basic facilities like a kitchen, bathroom, or hallway.
When asked where she cooks, she replied with teary eyes, “What should I cook? We have nothing to eat. Day and night we survive on dry bread collected from restaurants. Whatever little I earn from working in people’s homes goes toward my daughter’s treatment.”
Dear friends, if you are able to help, let’s share even a small part of what we have with those in need and bring a smile to their faces. Perhaps, by doing so, we can bring joy to the heart of a servant—and the Creator.
