Help a Mother of Five and Her Five Children Survive a Difficult WinterI am raising funds for a family I personally know in Mazar-i-Sharif, Balkh, Afghanistan.The family consists of a mother, her husband, and their five children — two boys and three girls. Their oldest daughter is about 13 years old, and their youngest child is a little girl of about two years old.The father is currently away from home and receiving treatment for a serious mental health condition. He is staying in a treatment facility and has been receiving care for several months. Before these difficulties began, he was able to work and support his family. However, over the past several years, he lost his employment and the family has faced severe financial hardship. After years of difficult circumstances and pressure, his mental health deteriorated significantly, and he now requires ongoing treatment.The mother is currently caring for the five children with very limited financial support. She is also struggling with her own psychological difficulties and carries the daily responsibility of caring for the children and trying to meet their most basic needs.I recently visited the family and saw their living conditions firsthand. The children are currently not attending school or kindergarten. When they become sick, the family often cannot take them to a doctor because they do not have enough money for medical care.With winter approaching, the mother's worries have become even greater. The family does not have enough food, and they need a safe and warm place to live through the winter.During my visit, the mother did not ask for anything unnecessary. Her greatest wish was simply to have enough food for her children and to be able to keep them warm and safe during this difficult period.I am creating this campaign with a goal of $1,000 to help the family meet their most urgent needs.The funds will be used according to the family's verified needs, with priority given to:Food and essential groceriesA safe and warm place to live during the winterWarm clothing and essential winter items for the mother and childrenEssential healthcare needs when necessaryThis campaign is about providing basic necessities and giving a mother and her five children some safety and hope during an extremely difficult period.I personally visited this family and, with the mother's permission, took photographs to document their situation.Every contribution, no matter how small, can help.
