I am writing this letter with a broken heart and with hope that only remains through the kindness of God and compassionate people. For many years, our family has lived in extreme poverty. We never had our own house, vehicle, land, livestock, savings, or any financial support. Our entire life has been spent in rented houses and through daily labor work. Today, we have lost even that simple life, and there are nights when we cannot even provide bread for our family. About six months ago, my 8-year-old younger brother, Aziz Ahmad, was diagnosed with a dangerous and aggressive cancer called Synovial Sarcoma in the fibula area of his right leg. After visiting doctors in Afghanistan, they informed us that due to the lack of medical facilities and treatment options, his illness could not be treated there. They urgently advised us to transfer him to Iran or another country as soon as possible, otherwise his life would be in serious danger. With great difficulty, debt, selling our few belongings, and asking help from people, we managed to take my brother to Iran for treatment. He was admitted to Seyed Al-Shohada Omid Hospital in Isfahan, where doctors started a treatment plan including chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgery. The doctors stated that his treatment process would continue for at least one and a half years. During all this time, my little brother has been far away from his mother and living in a foreign country while receiving treatment. He cries at night from pain and loneliness and constantly calls for our mother. Meanwhile, my mother remains in Afghanistan with several small children, living in extremely difficult emotional and financial conditions without proper shelter or support. Watching a child with cancer separated from his mother has deeply broken our family emotionally. As the eldest son of the family, I went to work in Iran to help pay for my brother’s medical expenses. Unfortunately, while working, my hand was caught in an industrial conveyor machine. My hand was broken in four places, and one joint of my finger was completely amputated. I underwent multiple major surgeries at Gharazi Hospital in Isfahan and remained hospitalized for several days. After my passport expired, I was forced to return to Afghanistan and leave my elderly and exhausted father alone in Iran with my sick younger brother. Doctors warned me that if I do not continue regular physiotherapy and treatment for my hand, the joints may permanently stiffen, and I may lose the ability to work and live normally forever. Unfortunately, due to severe financial problems, I have been unable to continue my treatment and physiotherapy, and I have already lost much of my ability to perform daily tasks. At present, my father in Iran is facing severe financial hardship and cannot afford my brother’s ongoing cancer treatment. At the same time, I myself cannot afford treatment or physiotherapy for my injured hand in Afghanistan. Our family is now living in an extremely critical condition. We have no house, no stable income, no financial support, and no one to help us through this painful situation. All medical documents, hospital reports, prescriptions, cancer diagnosis papers, treatment records, surgery documents, and photos related to my brother’s illness and my hand injury are available and can be provided if needed. I also honestly admit that I have no experience or knowledge in handling such difficult situations and humanitarian processes. Therefore, with complete desperation and humility, I kindly ask for any possible assistance you may offer, including financial support, emotional support, guidance, or referral to humanitarian organizations and aid programs. Today, after God, our only hope is the kindness of compassionate people who can hear the pain of a child suffering from cancer and a helpless family struggling to survive.
