One of our Atalan members recently visited a small primary school in Nili, Daikundi Province, Afghanistan. During the visit, they learned that the school is facing a serious funding shortage and may soon be forced to close if support is not found.This school serves girls in the morning and boys in the afternoon, providing education from Grade 1 to Grade 6. For many of these children, there is no realistic alternative if this school closes.The school administration has shared that they are facing a serious funding shortage. Without immediate financial support, they may no longer be able to keep the school operating.A school is more than a building. It is hope. It is safety. It is the opportunity for a child to learn to read, write, dream, and build a better future. When a school closes, children lose much more than classrooms—they lose opportunities that may never return.To help prevent this, I have personally committed to covering the salaries of six teachers. However, much more support is still needed to keep the school open and provide students with the basic resources they need.The most urgent needs include:<ul><li>Teachers' salaries</li><li>Exercise books and notebooks</li><li>Pens, pencils, and other stationery</li><li>Basic educational materials</li><li>Safe drinking water for students</li><li>Essential classroom supplies</li></ul>If you believe that every child deserves the chance to learn, I kindly ask you to support this effort.
