Marzia Moradi, daughter of Hussain Ali, is a resident of Bamyan province currently living in the 10th district of Kabul province with her mother, two sisters, and two brothers. Her father passed away ten years ago due to cancer.
Due to the family’s financial struggles, one of her brothers migrated to Iran to support the family, while the other works as an apprentice to a mechanic. Marzia was born with cerebral palsy (CP) and because of this condition, has been unable to attend school.
When she approached the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and expressed her desire to study, she was told that they do not provide teachers for individuals with CP. Undeterred, she went to a nearby public school, but the principal required a formal letter from the ICRC to admit her. Unfortunately, the ICRC did not provide this letter.
Marzia then turned to a private school and requested their assistance, offering to pay for help her. However, the private school informed her that she would need to pay 5,000 Afghanis per month. Since her family could not afford this amount, she had to give up her dream of studying. Despite this, Marzia still has a strong desire to pursue an education and hopes that one day she will be able to achieve her goal.
