We are raising $500 to build a physical library with 100 books for over 50 teenage Afghan girls. Reading culture has been slowly fading. However, the girls at Nurbaan are still incredibly excited to read. In a recent video, we asked them about their favorite part of the class, and the majority of the students gave a heartwarming answer: Reading. Off-camera, they describe it as a fun and relaxing activity. One student shared, "It feels like a temporary escape from all the drama in my life, and it feels like my safe space." To them, reading is a way to feel safe and dream freely. Unfortunately, they face many obstacles, including financial issues and social attitudes that discourage investing in books. We want to step up to remove these barriers.Every dollar from this campaign directly helps provide learning resources for over 50 girls. We plan to start with creating a library with 100 books on various topics, including English stories, grammar, vocabulary, motivational books, and even novels. There would also be a number of Dari books, so the students who cannot fully understand English yet won't feel left out. We are raising $500 to establish a small library with 100 books for more than 50 teenage Afghan girls who are eager to learn, grow, and explore the world through reading.
In a time when reading culture is gradually fading, these young girls continue to show an inspiring passion for books. When asked about their favorite part of their classes, many of them shared the same answer: reading. For them, books provide more than knowledge—they offer comfort, inspiration, and a safe space to dream about a brighter future.
One student described reading as “a temporary escape from all the challenges in my life and a place where I feel safe.” Stories, educational materials, and motivational books help these girls expand their horizons and imagine possibilities beyond their daily circumstances.
Unfortunately, many of them face significant barriers to accessing books and educational resources. Financial hardship and limited access to learning materials make it difficult for them to develop strong reading habits and continue their educational journey.
To address this need, we aim to create a library containing 100 carefully selected books covering a variety of subjects, including:

<li>English grammar and vocabulary resources</li>
<li>Motivational and self-development books</li>
<li>Educational and academic materials</li>
<li>Dari-language books for students who are still developing their English skills</li>
</ul>
This library will provide a welcoming learning environment where girls can read, study, and continue building their knowledge and confidence.
