Qamargul is originally from Ghor Province, Firozkoh (the provincial center).

Two years ago, her husband was arrested and imprisoned by the Islamic Emirate on a murder charge, which she states was a false accusation.

After her husband’s arrest, she was forced to leave her home and relocate to the center of Ghor. Currently, she lives with her two sons and two daughters. To meet their basic needs, they engage in hard labor during the day and spend their nights in a small mud house.
