Abdul Rahman is a 5-year-old boy who has been battling severe malnutrition since birth. His family’s dire economic situation has left them unable to provide the medical care he desperately needs. Doctors have warned that if Abdul Rahman doesn’t receive treatment before he turns 7 or 8, his condition will deteriorate further, making recovery much more difficult. Abdul Rahman’s mother, Farida Soltani, is doing everything she can to care for her family of 12 children, but their circumstances are overwhelming. Living in a rented house in Herat city, Farida is the sole provider for her family, as her husband is unwell and unable to work. Despite her efforts, the family struggles to afford even the basic necessities, let alone the specialized treatment Abdul Rahman requires.
