When I walked into a stranger's home to film a story, a 6-year-old girl named Asra walked up to me and said:
"Kaka, we have nothing to eat. My brothers and sisters cry every night from hunger."
Her father used to leave before dawn to work. Then the government took him. Now he has no job. Her mother stays home with five children and no income.
When I asked Asra what grade she was in, she said, "Grade 9" — she had no idea what school even was.
She asked me for flour, rice, and school supplies.
