This campaign supports a widowed mother and her five children who are facing serious financial hardship after the death of their father.The children’s father passed away when their mother was four months pregnant. Their oldest child is 11 years old, and their youngest is only 8 months old. The family lives in a rented home and has no regular source of income.The mother does not receive regular support from either her family or her late husband’s family. Some people in the community help when they can, but this support is not enough to cover the family’s basic needs.Before his death, the father worked despite having limited use of one hand. He drove a cart and sold second-hand sandals to support his family. Since his death, the family has lost its main source of income.The family’s living conditions are also difficult. Their rented home has a poor and unsafe entrance, with a wooden staircase that is difficult for the young children to climb. The entrance is especially challenging for the smaller children and presents an additional safety concern for the family.The children also face difficulties accessing education. The public school is far from their home, which is difficult for their mother given her circumstances and the young age of the children. A private school is available nearby, but the family cannot afford the registration and school-related costs.We are raising $3,000 to support this family for one year.
