More than half of Afghanistan’s population are facing emergency levels of food insecurity. The people of Afghanistan are in urgent need of food, water, shelter, and protection, with more than 19 million people suffering from starvation. Poverty has led many families to take extreme measures to survive including selling their organs and children so they can have a better chance of survival. International aid was cut off after the Taliban took over in August.
