About Campaign
After the recent earthquake in Kunar province, heavy human and financial losses were caused to many families, creating a critical situation. Reports confirm that more than 2,205 people have died and more than 3,600 have been injured. Entire communities have collapsed, families have become homeless, and many people have lost all their means of livelihood.
Current Situation
At present, families are living in tents that were prepared for them, but the cold winter is coming and it poses a serious threat to families, especially children and the elderly. They do not have proper warm clothes, and keeping their tents warm and finding food is very difficult. Children are facing the danger of malnutrition because of the lack of proper food, and many of them have already lost weight. Also, pregnant women among them are at greater risk of death and health problems because there is no medical care or proper nutrition available for them in the tents.
Your Response:
According to the survey we conducted among these families, we must provide support especially for children, mothers (especially pregnant women), and the elderly. Our response is to distribute packages that include heating materials, winter clothes to keep them warm, food items for better nutrition of children and pregnant women, and basic hygiene supplies.
Food Items for Families and Children:
1. Flour, rice, oil
2. Beans, chickpeas, lentils, mung beans, macaroni
3. Sugar, dry tea, salt, tomato paste
4. Milk powder, biscuits, Cerelac
Winter Need Package:
1. Firewood, stove
2. Blanket, mattress, pillow
3. Winter clothes
Hygiene Package:
1. Shampoo, soap, women’s hygiene items, cream, and toothbrush
Impact:
The earthquake victims of Kunar need our immediate help during the cold winter.
With your support, we can provide warmth, food, and hope for children and affected families.
Let’s join hands together and not let any family be left alone in this winter.
Every contribution, even small, has a direct impact on the lives of survivors who lost everything.
Together, we can help Afghan families affected by the earthquake rebuild their lives after this disaster.
