Aseel Recognized in UK Parliament: A Closer Look at the Discussion
Aseel, a technology start-up committed to empowering artisans from under-developed and developing countries and providing vital humanitarian aid, proudly announces its recognition in a recent UK Parliament discussion. This recognition highlights the significant impact Aseel is making in revolutionizing the aid landscape and bringing hope to those in need - currently in Afghanistan.
During the parliamentary discussion, one of the members of Parliament stated, "For example, one lesser-known organization which has given evidence to the APPG is the Aseel phone app which provides a digital platform that provides humanitarian aid directly through connected citizens rather than encouraging the bureaucracy and overheads of larger organizations." This acknowledgment underscores the innovative nature of Aseel's approach to humanitarian aid, Aseel Do Good platform.
Aseel's Do Good platform allows everyone worldwide to directly send aid to those in need. Individuals can sponsor a family, start a campaign, or join our Atalan Network. Atalan is a group of on-ground heroes who help to identify, register, and assign Omid IDs and Omid Cards (helps to track the entire process) and deliver aid packages. By leveraging technology and fostering direct connections, Aseel ensures that aid reaches its intended recipients efficiently and effectively.
In response to the question raised by a Parliament member on how we can support such innovation by those in the country, there are several ways - as mentioned above - to contribute to Aseel's mission of providing humanitarian aid. You can make a difference by backing our Grand Challenges encompassing various initiatives such as disaster funds, child relief, winter relief grand challenge, and, most notably, assistance for 50 Afghan Women in Tech. Additionally, Aseel Seed Round provides the opportunity for individual investors, foundations & grants and, venture capitalists (VCs), and institutional investors to invest in Aseel. By investing in Aseel, you not only support its ongoing initiatives but also can be a part of a cause that instills hope and fosters positive change. Whether through active involvement or financial investment, your contribution is pivotal in nurturing Aseel's innovative initiatives.
Recognizing the potential of technology in addressing people suffering the Taliban oppression, the Parliament member highlighted, "Looking at the potential of technologies as ways of sending money directly to citizens who are suffering under the effects of the tyranny of organizations like the Taliban." Despite the challenging circumstances, Aseel, via its Do Good platform, has successfully provided humanitarian aid to over 20,000 families and 543,000 individuals in Afghanistan - the first country of operation. The Atalan Network has been tirelessly working to ensure the transparency of the process and that the aid packages reach those in need without any discrepancies. This demonstrates the importance of Aseel's innovative idea in providing humanitarian aid to Afghans who are facing uncertainty and adversity.
Furthermore, the discussion emphasized the significance of technology in providing non-traditional ways of delivering aid directly to those suffering. "Obviously, we need to ensure that security is tight, but technology really offers non-traditional ways of us getting support directly to people who are otherwise suffering," expressed a Parliament member. By prioritizing security measures and leveraging technology, Aseel ensures the safe and efficient delivery of aid, overcoming geographical barriers and reaching individuals in remote or affected areas. By providing Omid IDs and Omid Cards, beneficiaries and donors can easily monitor the entire process, from the initial order placement to package preparation, shipment, and delivery to the intended recipient. Furthermore, comprehensive reports are generated for each distribution, containing detailed information about the entire process. These reports are either sent to the donors directly or shared on the Aseel website, facilitating seamless communication between donors, beneficiaries, and the Aseel team.
Highlighting the innovative nature of the Aseel app, it was mentioned, "What was very innovative about the Aseel app is it allows people out of the country or in the country to send money to buy food and other essential goods and services which are actually provided by people in the country. So it's not just an aid and a handout." Through Aseel's online digital platform, individuals from anywhere in the world can donate to support those suffering under the oppression of the Taliban. Donors, organizations, and individuals can purchase packages containing necessary items, providing sustained support while purchasing handmade items made by local artisans inhabiting developing and underdeveloped communities.
