**************************
Diaspora Passing (Mina Sharif & Shamayel Shalizi) are partnering with Aseel, an Afghan-led initiative, to help 150 families in Kunar province who are affected by the recent conflicts. We have chosen Shalez and Tsawkay districts in Kunar because these places are often forgotten about and hold special meaning to us. We have constantly mentioned Aseel as a vetted, transparent, and results-driven organization. It is with pleasure to join this Afghan initiative in sending life-saving support to the homeland.
About the Organizer
Mina Sharif and Shamayel Shalizi are the two active Afghan Diaspora who have been working to bridge the gap between Afghanistan and the diaspora community through their social media series called "Diaspora Passing".
Shamayel Shalizi was born in Afghanistan and was grown up between the US, Russia and Afghanistan. She owns her own jewelry online shop by the name of Blingistan that provides one of a kind, handmade sterling silver and 24k gold jewelry pieces.
Mina Sharif is a social activist who was born in Afghanistan and is currently living in Canada. Sharif was involved in so many projects for children in Afghanistan. Mina and Shamayel are among the many Afghan Diaspora who have not forgotten the people of Afghanistan at the time of crisis. Both have been involved in a project called Durkhanum Sewing Circle that helps Afghan women to continue supporting their families and become the breadwinners for their families. Besides, they have decided to have their own fundraiser through Aseel to provide food to war-affected people in Ghazni and Kunar provinces of Afghanistan.Current People-Led CampaignsSupport for GFA 2nd Annual Conference
