Afghan Shaal Design

Selling from Afghanishtan

Zarghona Ibrahimi, a native of Kabul, Afghanistan, established Afghan Shaal Design in 2017 at the age of 34. Her educational background includes completing her school education at one of the institutions based in Kabul. Zarghona's passion for tailoring led her to work as an apprentice at a tailoring salon for a year, where she gained 15 years of extensive experience in the field, starting as an apprentice initially. Today, Shaal Design employs a team of 13 artisans, including 12 female and 1 male artisan, who work closely with Zarghona to manage the business operations. All the products offered by Shaal Design are handmade, primarily crafted by Afghan women, incorporating different designs extracted from modern and ancient motifs. The raw materials used in the products are sourced locally from other provinces of Afghanistan and sometimes from neighboring countries. With a vision to showcase the exceptional talent of Afghan women to the world, Zarghona aims to expand her business to the international market. She believes Afghan women have unique skills and creativity worth sharing with the world, and their products can be among the best in the world.
