Derya Hayirli (Blue Fox Jewelery) ShopDerya Hayirli (Blue Fox Jewelery)
Selling from TurkeyDerya Hayirli is the visionary founder and designer of Blue Fox Jewelry. After graduating from Istanbul University, Derya mastered the ancient lost wax technique, a method dating back to 4000 BC. A true nature lover and designer, she finds inspiration in rare animal figures such as stingrays, foxes, eagles, and whales, infusing enchanting fairy-tale elements into her creations. Since 2015, Derya has passionately pursued her craft, meticulously crafting magical pieces using bronze, gold, silver, and natural stones, embracing artistic freedom in every design. Each product she creates tells a unique story. Every item in Derya's Shop is handcrafted using the lost wax technique. This age-old technique has been used for thousands of years, and Derya continues to employ the same traditional methods in her production. Instead of adobe, rubber is used, and electric furnaces have replaced fires lit outside. Creating these exquisite pieces begins with combining an idea with a model and transferring it to paper. From there, the wax modeling phase commences, shaping the wax through heating, carving, and stacking based on the drawings transferred onto the candle. Once the wax model is complete, it is ready for casting in gold, silver, or bronze materials. The wax models are placed in a cylindrical metal container, pouring liquid plaster over them. As the plaster mold solidifies, the wax melts away, evaporating and disappearing, leaving cavities replicating the wax models. This is how the "lost" wax gives the casting its name, forming the foundation for Derya's intricate and captivating designs.
