Founded in 2002 in a refugee camp by Abdul Ghaffar Alaich, Kerki Weavers is a family-owned Afghan carpet company. Now based in Aqcha, Jozjan Province, the business employs 50 staff and works with over 5,000 home-based weavers. Kerki produces 2,000–3,000 meters of rugs monthly using traditional hand-weaving methods. Every carpet is crafted with care—from spinning and dyeing to weaving and finishing—all done by hand. They use natural wool and over 100 plant-based colors sourced from local farmers. Kerki Weavers empowers artisans, supports fair wages, and promotes sustainable practices. The brand has gained recognition through international shows and private firm orders. Proudly partnered with ASEEL to share Afghan heritage and craftsmanship with the world.
