Zargarzada Gem & Jewelry

Selling from Afghanishtan

Hujjat Ullah Zargarzada established the first location in Peshawar, Pakistan, in 1990, but Zargarzada Gem & Jewelry was established in Kabul, Afghanistan, in 2002. Zargarzada has three locations in Kabul, making it one of the city's most franchised jewelry brands. The company sells high-quality handcrafted jewelry made from gemstones native to Afghanistan. Hujjat studied lithology in Mumbai, focusing on the properties of rocks and gems. Since then, he has gained decades of expertise working as a professional goldsmith. He hired carvers to craft gems into appropriate sizes and shapes for the various necklace, bracelet, and ring designs, while metalworkers created sterling silver or gold settings for the gems. The finished piece is then processed and finalized by a goldsmith to ensure good quality closures, links, and gemstone design. Combining his lithology education with his goldsmith training, Hujjat built the business to be both sustainable and economically impactful. Zargarzada buys Afghan gems in bulk, processes them, and crafts them into beautiful jewelry for sale in domestic and international markets. Hujjat empowers local Afghan gemstone vendors and employs jewelers from the Kabul community by sourcing locally rather than purchasing gems from Iran or India. Zargarzada Gem and Jewelry employs about ten locals in Kabul. Hujjat looks forward to increasing business operations, hiring more craftsmen and women, and reaching more customers in Afghanistan and globally. By partnering with Aseel, Zargarzada will share precious gems of Afghanistan throughout the world featured on multiple ornaments.
