50 Afghan Women in Tech

A fully remote fellowship gives 50 Afghan women the chance to learn, grow, and build real careers in technology, no classrooms, no borders, just bold futures.

Join us in turning resilience into opportunity.

50 Afghan Women in Tech will support 50 women from Afghanistan to become future technology leaders. The program will enable the fellows to work directly with technology companies that are actively supporting Afghanistan.

The program works as a one-year fellowship that provides fully-remote work opportunities for Afghan women. The package includes a monthly allowance, an internet fee, a workstation, and other requirements that will enable the fellow to work full-time remotely with the organizing partners.

The Power of Partnership

Together, we're opening doors for Afghan women in technology.

Code to Inspire

Partnerships like the Afghan Women Tech Leadership program with Aseel open doors that many Afghan women could only dream of. Seeing six of our Code to Inspire graduates become fellows and two now teaching coding and animation to more than 500 girls through our online classes proves how critical these opportunities are. They don't just advance women in tech; they create lasting economic independence and a ripple effect of empowerment in our communities.

Refuge

Our partnership with the Afghan Women in Tech initiative reflects our deep belief that technology should be a tool of empowerment—not harm. At Refuge, we are proud to support a program that aligns with our values of inclusivity, survivor empowerment, and advancing equitable access to digital opportunities. The fellows bring remarkable talent, yet many lack access to devices, networks, and pathways into the tech sector. This program is not only closing that digital divide, but also fostering future leaders, innovators, and change-makers. Hearing the fellows' journeys—their challenges, successes, and aspirations—has been inspiring, and we look forward to deepening our collaboration as the initiative grows. We see this investment as strategic, impactful, and essential in ensuring that women facing displacement and gender-based persecution are not left behind in the evolving tech landscape.

RapidIteration

Through the Afghan Women Tech Leadership fellowship with Aseel, our CodeWeekend alum has gone from learner to leader—mentoring the next generation of Afghan women in tech. It's proof that skills spark confidence, confidence builds opportunity, and opportunity changes communities.

Who can Apply?

All women from Afghanistan can apply from anywhere in the world; preference is given to those that can, within a short timeframe, lead a significant technology area and/or cause mass impact for other Afghan women through technology.
