Many women in Afghanistan bear the full responsibility of providing for their families. Most have no stable income and struggle to meet even basic needs. To build a sustainable source of livelihood, they aspire to learn tailoring — but lack the sewing machines, tools, and materials needed for effective training.
A group of volunteer instructors began teaching these women without any payment, but the classes lacked proper resources. Some of the learners were even homeless, facing economic and social hardships that limited their ability to progress.
Through Aseel, a campaign was launched to equip these women with sewing machines and essential tailoring supplies. With these tools, they were able to continue their training, participate in more workshops, and begin earning from their craft.
As their skills grew, so did their confidence and independence. Many now have regular clients and students of their own — transforming their lives and their communities one stitch at a time.
