Heavy Snow and Rainfall Kill 61, Injure 110 Across Afghanistan – Aseel Launches Emergency Response
Feb 07, 2026

Kabul, Afghanistan – January 25, 2026 – Heavy snow and rainfall over the past three days have killed at least 61 people and injured over 110 across Afghanistan, as reported by the National Disaster Management Authority. The storms have destroyed or partially damaged 458 homes and caused severe disruption in 15 provinces, leaving many villages cut off due to blocked roads.
The country’s eastern provinces are still recovering from devastating earthquakes last year in August and November, which destroyed villages and killed over 2,200 people. Families displaced by the earthquakes are especially at risk from extreme cold, snow, and disrupted access to aid.
Aseel’s Response
Aseel is mobilizing its emergency response through the Atalaan network, which is currently on the ground surveying affected communities to assess urgent needs. Emergency packages, including food, winter supplies, and essential household items, are ready and available for delivery to cut-off areas.
Aseel encourages supporters to visit its website to view and send emergency packages, helping families affected by the extreme snow and rainfall survive and recover.
Our Atalaan teams are on the ground in affected provinces, ensuring that help reaches the most vulnerable families quickly.
