Afghanistan
My name is Estorai Sediqi, and I am from Pul-e-Khumri District, Baghlan Province, Afghanistan. I completed a secondary education and bring over 22 years of hands-on experience in tailoring and Afghan handicrafts. I began my business journey over two decades ago in Pul-e-Khumri, starting with very limited resources. What began as a small effort has now grown into Alam Taj Handicrafts Center, located in Bakhtar Market, where I now lead a team of six skilled workers — including two tailors, two leather embroiderers, and two beadwork specialists. We specialize in a variety of traditional and handcrafted clothing, including party dresses, Afghani scarves (Gand), and custom leather and bead-embroidered garments. Our work combines cultural heritage with modern elegance, offering both functionality and art. I learned my craft while living in Iran, where I trained professionally before bringing my skills back to Afghanistan. Today, I continue to serve both families and individual customers, ensuring that each piece is tailored with care and precision. The motivation behind establishing Alam Taj was to create job opportunities for women, make tailoring more accessible, and grow a brand that represents progress, culture, and empowerment. Our goal is to eventually introduce our designs to international markets and expand the reach of Afghan-made fashion. By joining Aseel, I hope to connect with global supporters who appreciate handcrafted work and want to support women-led businesses in Afghanistan. Thank you for supporting Alam Taj Handicrafts Center — where tradition, talent, and purpose are woven into every piece.
