Amu Handicrafts – Empowering Afghan Women Through Craft Founded in 2022 by Suhila Ahadi in Aikhanam Village, Takhar Province, Amu Handicrafts is a women-led initiative bringing Afghan tradition to life. With a team of 25 talented young women, we handcraft clothing, scarves, kilims, embroidered yakhans, and more—blending heritage with heart. Each piece is made with care, skill, and a dream: to empower women through meaningful work and preserve Afghan artistry. With support from the Aga Khan Foundation and our partnership with Aseel, we’re proud to share our creations with the world. Made by women. Rooted in tradition. Crafted for you.
