My name is Basira Qaderi, and I’m the founder of Azmon Tailors, based in Kandahar city. I started this small business around four years ago in the Rangrezano area of District 2, with just a few sewing machines and a big goal—to build a source of halal income for myself and other women. What began with a team of four women has now grown into a group of 16 skilled tailors, all dedicated to producing beautiful, traditional clothing for women. We make a wide range of designs, including Afghani, Punjabi, Balochi, and other regional styles. Each outfit is crafted with great care and reflects our love for Afghan culture and fashion. Our shop is located near Abdul Rab Akhundzada Square, and on an average day, we sew 20 to 30 custom outfits. This work means more than just a livelihood—it allows us to support our families, grow our skills, and stand strong as women entrepreneurs. Through Aseel, we now have the chance to connect with customers far beyond Kandahar. Aseel has given us a platform where our handmade clothing can be appreciated by people around the world, while allowing us to keep doing what we love—right here from home. We’re proud of what we’ve built, and even more excited about where we’re headed.
