Bano Yaqobi Tailoring Center - Khatera Yaqobi, the founder of Bano Yaqobi Tailoring Center, is an experienced entrepreneur from Kapisah, with 8 years of experience in women’s garment production and handicrafts. After completing her school education and briefly pursuing university studies, Khatera turned her passion for tailoring into a business, aiming to empower women and create opportunities for financial independence. In 2024, with limited resources, Khatera began her business at home and gradually expanded it into a thriving workshop. Today, Bano Yaqobi Tailoring Center employs 10 workers and produces a variety of Afghan-style garments, including traditional dresses, ceremonial outfits, embroidered clothing, and local wear. Khatera’s goal is to blend Afghan tradition with modern fashion, creating high-quality, beautiful clothing. Khatera’s motivation for starting the business was to empower women by providing them with employment and financial independence. She believes that by offering women opportunities to work and learn new skills, she can help improve their lives and contribute to economic independence. Khatera’s tailoring skills were developed through local training courses and hands-on experience. Now, she is focused on expanding Bano Yaqobi Tailoring Center, aiming to grow her brand nationally and to export to neighboring countries. Her vision is to create job opportunities and strengthen the local economy through the growth of her business. With the support of Aseel, Bano Yaqobi Tailoring Center is now able to reach global markets, showcasing Afghan-made garments to an international audience. This collaboration with Aseel will help Khatera expand her reach and empower more women through job creation.
