Banowan Shams, founded by Shakira Shams, is a women-led tailoring and handicraft brand rooted in Afghan tradition. A graduate of Kabul University in Dari language and literature and a national television reporter for 18 years, Shakira turned her passion for sewing—learned at age 20 and refined through training in Iran—into a thriving business.
