My name is Sayed Agha Stanikzai, and I’m from Mohammad Agha district in Logar province. I’ve been working in tailoring and traditional Afghan clothing since the year 1390 (2011). This work isn’t just a way to earn a living—it’s something I’ve always been deeply passionate about. From a young age, I loved the beauty of Afghan clothes—the colors, the stitching, the way they carry our culture—and I knew I wanted to be part of keeping that tradition alive. When I started, I didn’t have any formal training or education beyond reading and writing. But I had determination, and I was willing to learn everything I could. Day by day, order by order, I built my skills and earned the trust of my customers. Today, I run a small workshop with a team of six dedicated people. We create all kinds of Afghan clothing—especially for young women from nearby villages and shopkeepers in the Logar market. Every design we make is tailored with care, customized to the needs of each customer. Our goal is simple: to honor the beauty of Afghan tradition while offering clothes that people are proud to wear. Thanks to Aseel, I now have the opportunity to share my work beyond Logar. Through the platform, my designs—now under the name Designs by Masoda—have reached customers who value handmade, authentic Afghan garments. Aseel has helped bring recognition to artisans like me who’ve spent years quietly working behind sewing machines, hoping one day our craft would be seen and appreciated. I’m proud of how far we’ve come, and InshAllah, I hope this is only the beginning. My dream is to continue growing, to provide work for more people in my community, and to keep showcasing the richness of Afghan dress to the world.
