Anita Noor is the visionary Founder and CEO behind Dursa, a modern Afghan handicraft brand that combines creativity, culture, and empowerment. Born in 2003 in Kabul, Anita developed an early passion for technology and graphic art, quickly becoming a skilled graphic designer. After completing school in 2020, she began studying Computer Science at university. However, due to political changes and the closure of universities for women, she was unable to continue her studies. Refusing to give up, Anita redirected her creative energy toward learning handicrafts, transforming a personal challenge into an inspiring entrepreneurial journey. In August 2022, she officially registered Dursa with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Afghanistan. The brand’s name, meaning “precious stone,” reflects both the beauty and resilience of Afghan women. What began as a small home décor venture run by Anita and her sister has grown into a thriving enterprise with five product categories—home décor, coffee art, traditional and modern clothing, jewelry, and women’s scarves. Under Anita’s leadership, Dursa now employs 18 young women, many of whom lost access to education and work. Through Dursa’s apprenticeship and skills training programs, Anita empowers these women with creative and digital skills, helping them achieve financial independence and confidence. Blending her expertise in graphic design with a deep commitment to social impact, Anita continues to lead Dursa as a symbol of Afghan women’s resilience, artistry, and hope for a brighter future. Her vision is to transform Dursa into a global brand representing the creativity and strength of Afghan women.
