My name is Sona Masoomi, and I am the founder of Etebar Tailoring Workshop, located in Sinek village, near Haji Syed Hashim Mosque in Zabul province. I studied up to the 6th grade and started my tailoring business four years ago. I always had a passion for sewing, but financial challenges and a lack of tailoring services in our area motivated me to turn that passion into something useful for both myself and my community. I don’t have a physical shop—my workshop is set up at home in an open space where I take and fulfill customer orders. We are a small team of five women, and together we create custom traditional clothing for women, including chapan (coats), abayas, hijabs, and many other handmade garments—around 30 different clothing types. Every piece is made based on the customer’s style and preferences. I completed a private tailoring course and graduated with distinction. Now, I personally take orders from women in my neighborhood and design garments that suit their needs and bring them joy. My goals are simple but powerful: to serve my community, strengthen my household economy, and offer professional tailoring services to the people around me. With the support of Aseel, I hope to grow even further and reach more people with the craft I love.
