My name is Gulalay Hamdard, and I’m the proud founder of Faizani Tailors, based in District 12 of Kandahar City. I started my journey 14 years ago, driven by a simple but powerful purpose—to earn a halal income for myself and my family during a time of deep economic hardship. What began as a modest effort in tailoring and Khamek Dozi (traditional Afghan embroidery) has now grown into a vibrant tailoring business. Along the way, I’ve trained and supported many women—passing on skills in sewing, embroidery, and professional development. It has been my honor to empower others, even when I had very little myself. Today, Faizani Tailors operates from Hakeem Sahib Adda in District 12 and employs 36 hardworking women. Together, we create a variety of handmade products, including: – Women’s clothing – Children’s outfits – Home decor like koti chadaryanay – Hijabs – Handcrafted necklaces and shawls (patoganay) Each item is carefully made with love, quality, and the unique touch of Afghan craftsmanship. The idea to create a brand came as we faced limitations in selling our products. Initially, our reach was small and sales were slow. But with time, we realized the power of visibility and professionalism, and that’s when Faizani Tailors was officially born—to showcase our work to more customers and grow beyond limitations. Our goals are simple but strong: 1. Deliver high-quality products that meet customer demands—on time and at fair prices. 2. Provide custom-tailored designs that reflect market preferences. 3. Take bold steps toward self-sufficiency—for myself and my children. 4. Compete with quality, not quantity. 5. Expand our business and reach. Becoming a part of Aseel means more than just selling products—it’s about telling our story, reaching new markets, and helping Afghan women stand tall through their skills and creativity.
