Seller Story: Farzana Tailoring – Brightening Lives Through Afghan Craft Meet Farzana daughter of Sayed Nogul Shah, the inspiring founder of a women-led clothing brand based in Pul-e-Alam, Logar Province. Launched in 1398 (2019), Farzana’s journey began by offering sewing services and mentoring young girls in tailoring. Over time, she transformed her passion into a thriving business that designs and sells handmade garments within her community. Farzana is a graduate of primary school and a certified tailoring expert. She successfully completed a professional training course through BPRM and CARE International in 2007, held at the refugee town of Shahrak-e-Mohajireen. With her dedication to skill-building and women’s empowerment, she established her workshop in Mir Saleh village, operating right from her home. Today, Farzana proudly leads a team of 15 women, producing a wide variety of handmade products including women’s dresses, children’s outfits, event clothing, Afghan traditional garments, beadwork, and hand embroidery. Each piece is a reflection of heritage, creativity, and local craftsmanship. Her brand’s mission is deeply personal — to uplift Afghan women and enlighten society, giving women the tools and opportunities to stand strong and independent. All fabric is purchased and sewn in the Farzana workshop, with finished products sold throughout nearby villages — proudly Afghan, fully handmade.
