Hello and welcome to the Ghulam Sediq Sakhizada Carpet workshop. My name is Zarifa bint Sakhi Zada, and I am the proud owner and artisan behind this craft. Based in Kohistan, Kapisa, I started my journey into carpet weaving one year ago, learning from a skilled master artisan. Though we’re a small workshop, operating from my home with a dedicated team of 10 artisans, we work tirelessly to produce high-quality, handmade carpets. Our workshop specializes in carpets, bed covers, prayer rugs, and cushions, all crafted with intricate designs and patterns that reflect the true artistry of Afghan culture. The motivation behind my work is to bring forward the beauty of Afghan carpets while also providing my community with skilled job opportunities. Our goal is not only to create beautiful carpets but to also gain recognition and build a reputation for excellence in our craft. Each carpet takes time to complete, and we are proud of our work. Within two months, we will finish a single carpet, and our prices are set in line with the current market rate, typically around 12,000 Afs for a high-quality carpet. We are fortunate to offer our carpets through Aseel, which connects our handmade products to the global market.
