My name is Hamida, daughter of Faizullah, and I am the founder of Hamida Tailoring Workshop, located behind Kabul Bank in Qalat city, Zabul province. Originally from Shahjoy district, I moved to Qalat with my family due to security concerns in our hometown. Starting over wasn’t easy, but Alhamdulillah, with hard work and patience, things gradually improved. I’ve been working in tailoring for the past 7 years. Although my education is private and not formal, I’ve learned tailoring skills through local tailors and online tutorials from both Afghan and international sources. Today, I run my own tailoring brand and lead a team of five talented women. At Hamida Tailoring Workshop, we specialize in both handmade and machine-stitched clothing in various styles and forms. From traditional dresses to modern custom pieces, we do it all with care and quality. Our sales are especially strong during holidays and wedding seasons, though we also work on orders throughout the year. For me, this business is not just about income—it’s about earning a halal living for my family and creating job opportunities for other women in my community.
