Hemat Handcrafts

Afghanistan

My name is Bibi Razia Khpalwak, and I come from Daman district in Kandahar. In 2018, I started Hemat Handcrafts with a small idea and a big goal—to create beautiful handmade products while opening the door for women in need to earn a living and build confidence. I studied up to the 10th grade and learned the art of tailoring at a sewing center in Pakistan. Over the past 8 years, I’ve worked hard to turn my passion into a purpose-driven business. Today, Hemat Handcrafts operates out of District 5, Industrial Park, Kandahar, where I work with a team of 10 skilled women. We specialize in traditional Afghan craftsmanship, offering a variety of handmade products such as: – Hijabs – Afghani dresses – Mirror embroidery – Khamek dozi (traditional Afghan needlework) – Woven home accessories – Hand-decorated items for weddings and daily life Each piece we create carries the story of resilience, culture, and the hands of Afghan women who are rebuilding their lives through craft. Our brand was founded on a mission—not just to succeed in business—but to create jobs for widows and women with no family support. That’s our true inspiration. We believe in serving our community and strengthening our economy through skill, sisterhood, and hard work. Joining Aseel has been a game-changer for us. It’s given us the platform to share our story and products with people far beyond Kandahar. Through Aseel, we now connect with customers who value tradition and want to empower Afghan women by supporting their handmade work.
