Ikhlasmandan Shamall Tailoring

Afghanistan

My name is Mahmooda, daughter of Mohammad Zamanuddin, and I come from Deh Salah district in Baghlan province, Afghanistan. I’ve only had the chance to study in primary school, but life taught me more than any classroom ever could. I officially started my tailoring business in 2025, though I’ve been passionate about stitching and design for over five years. I founded Ikhlasmandan Shamall Tailoring in Tarazo Karkar, with the hope of not just supporting myself, but creating job opportunities for others—especially women—who often don’t have many chances. Today, I’m proud to say we are a team of 50 skilled artisans working together with dedication and care. At our workshop, we make a wide range of traditional Afghan clothing, including: Gand Afghani dresses Decorative beadwork for special occasions Graph embroidery and Krashnil weaving We also accept custom design requests Every item we create is handmade with patience and pride, blending our culture’s rich history with modern craftsmanship. My business goals have always been clear: To provide work for myself and other women in my area To contribute to the growth of our country To support my family and help others do the same Now, with the support of Aseel, I have the chance to share our handmade products with the world. Aseel has given us a platform to grow, connect with new customers, and prove that even in the most remote villages, there is talent, strength, and beauty worth celebrating. At Ikhlasmandan Shamall Tailoring, every stitch tells a story—and we’re proud to be part of a brighter future for Afghan artisans.
