Hamisheh Bahar Tailoring

Afghanistan

My name is Nargis Majidi, daughter of Bazaarbay, from the central district of Kunduz Province, Afghanistan. I completed grade 14 in the field of Economics and Business (Administration and Accounting) and have over 15 years of hands-on experience in tailoring and Afghan traditional clothing. In 1390 (2011), I began my business by investing 10,000 Afghanis to establish a small tailoring workshop with just a single manual sewing machine. From these humble beginnings, I founded Khayati Hamisheh Bahar, a brand committed to preserving and promoting the rich clothing traditions of Afghanistan. Our workshop is located in Bandar Imam Sahib, Sar Hawz Street, and currently supports a team of 10 women, many of whom rely on this work to support their families. We specialize in a variety of handmade products including Afghani scarves (Gand), traditional dresses, beadwork (Mora Dozi), leather embroidery (Charma Dozi), bag embroidery (Beek Dozi), and the iconic Chapan (Afghan coat). The motivation behind launching this brand was my desire to share Afghan culture with the world and ensure that our traditional garments and artistry are not forgotten. I want to give these crafts a global platform while contributing to the local economy. I gained my skills through practice, family support, and by participating in numerous seminars and hands-on training programs organized by various institutions. Today, we distribute our products through local markets, and also fulfill orders for nearby districts and rural communities. Through Aseel, I hope to reach a wider international audience, introduce Afghan craftsmanship to the world, and continue supporting economic opportunities for women. Thank you for supporting Khayati Hamisheh Bahar — where culture, creativity, and resilience are stitched into every design.
