Lida Tailoring – Stitching Strength, Style, and Self-Reliance Founded by Lida, a determined high school graduate from Deh Kolangar, Logar Province, Lida Tailoring is a growing homegrown business dedicated to craftsmanship and community. Since starting her tailoring journey three years ago, Lida has transformed a humble dream into a space of creativity and empowerment for women in her village. What began as a single woman’s effort has now grown into a team of 11 skilled women who come together each day to sew, design, and hand-embroider traditional Afghan clothing. With deep roots in Afghan culture, Lida Tailoring specializes in high-quality garments enhanced with Mure Bafi (beaded work) and Yakhan Dozi (neckline embroidery)—each piece crafted with precision, pride, and heart. Lida learned the art of tailoring while working as an apprentice in a local shop, gaining hands-on experience that would later lay the foundation for her business. Today, she holds contracts with several clothing stores, delivering consistent quality while promoting the role of women artisans in her region. Despite limited resources, Lida Tailoring continues to grow steadily, driven by Lida’s core mission: 🎯 To build a better life for herself and uplift other women through skill-based employment and creativity.
