My name is Marya Hanifi, and I am from Pul-e-Khumri District, Baghlan Province, Afghanistan. I hold a bachelor’s degree and have over six years of experience in tailoring and traditional Afghan design. I officially started my business in 1398 (2019), fueled by a personal passion for fashion and a desire to support my family financially. Today, I proudly run MehrNegar Tailoring, located in Khorsheed Market, where I work with a team of 12 skilled women. Our brand reflects a fusion of traditional Afghan craftsmanship and modern design, offering a variety of products such as Afghani scarves (Gand), beaded and party dresses, and a selection of handicrafts that celebrate Afghan culture. The idea behind MehrNegar was born out of both personal interest in entrepreneurship and a commitment to empowering women through meaningful work. Since the age of 17, I’ve been learning and perfecting my craft, starting from basic tailoring workshops and gradually developing into a full-scale fashion production. Our mission is to provide high-quality, handmade clothing, build a trusted brand, and create opportunities for women and girls to grow economically and professionally. Through our designs, we aim to blend heritage and innovation, keeping Afghan artistry alive while appealing to modern tastes.
