Mahtab Tailoring Center

Afghanistan

My name is Nasiba Noor Zaman, and I’m the founder of Mahtab Tailoring Center located in Khanabad District, Kunduz Province. Growing up, I learned tailoring and embroidery from my mother, who passed these skills down with patience and love. Three years ago, I decided to turn that knowledge into something more — a small business that could support other women and bring traditional Afghan craftsmanship to life. Today, Mahtab Tailoring Center employs 8 dedicated women. We specialize in women’s clothing and a variety of traditional techniques, creating garments that reflect our heritage and attention to detail. Every piece is made with care, reflecting the pride we take in our work. Like many women-led businesses in Afghanistan, we faced challenges in reaching wider markets. That’s when I joined Aseel — a platform that has opened new doors for us. Through Aseel, our handmade products are now reaching customers across the world, allowing us to preserve our craft and grow as artisans. Our goal is not just to make and sell clothing — we aim to empower women, support our community, and ensure that the beauty of Afghan tailoring continues for generations to come.
