After completing Grade 12, Zarghona launched her business in 1400 (2021) with a small investment, driven by a passion for quality craftsmanship and a desire to create opportunities for women. Based in First Hissa Kohistan, Kapisah, Malika Bano Handicrafts and Tailoring now employs 9 skilled workers, including women who benefit from the employment and training opportunities provided by the business. Zarghona's goal is not just to create high-quality garments but to bring new designs and quality products to market, including traditional Afghan garments, hand-stitched purses, mobile phone covers, small handbags, medical clothing, and embroidered chadors. Zarghona's motivation to start her business was rooted in her desire to help other women and create a sustainable source of income for herself and her employees. She learned her craft through a one-year vocational training program in Kabul at a women’s entrepreneurship workshop, which provided her with the skills to turn her passion into a successful business. Her products are sold in local markets in Kabul and Kapisa, where she has built a loyal customer base. Malika Bano Handicrafts and Tailoring has become a symbol of empowerment and economic independence for women, creating not just beautiful products, but also meaningful work and opportunities. Looking forward, Zarghona’s vision is to expand her business, providing more job opportunities and training programs for women in her community.
