Mano Tailoring Workshop

-

My name is Mano, and I am the founder of Mano Tailoring Workshop, based in Sink village in the center of Zabul. I never had the chance to go to school, but I’ve been sewing clothes for over 20 years. I first learned the skill as a young girl, simply by watching and practicing on my own. I started this business during a time when my family was going through a very difficult period. We were struggling financially, and I needed to find a way to help. That’s when I decided to turn my sewing into something more. Today, I work with four women, and I also train six young girls who want to learn tailoring and build a better future for themselves. At Mano Tailoring Workshop, we specialize in traditional Afghani dresses that are both stylish and deeply rooted in our culture. Every piece is made with care, using the experience I’ve gained over the years and the passion I carry for my work. Through Aseel, we now have the opportunity to share our designs with people beyond our village. This means a lot to us. It shows that the work of women from remote areas like ours can be seen, valued, and supported around the world. When you support Mano Tailoring Workshop, you’re not just buying clothing—you’re helping sustain a legacy of skill, effort, and hope for a brighter tomorrow.
