Muhradozi Sana Design

Afghanistan

My name is Sana Sarwari, and I am from the central district of Kunduz Province, Afghanistan. I am currently in my second year of studies at the Faculty of Education, specializing in Islamic Culture, and I have over six years of practical experience in tailoring and bead embroidery. I began my work shortly after starting university, collecting simple, unsold garments from local shopkeepers. I would take them home, redesign and decorate them with beadwork, and then return them to the shops for resale. This small initiative laid the foundation for what is now known as Sana Design. Today, I run my own brand and sell my products both directly to individual clients and through shopkeepers, combining traditional design with modern flair. I currently lead a team of 50 women, many of whom are contributing to their families through this work. We focus on custom bead embroidery (Muhradozi) and design-based enhancements of clothing that blend Afghan identity with contemporary taste. My journey started from creativity and persistence—and now with a growing customer base and strong demand, I continue to design, create, and support women through my brand. By joining Aseel, I hope to introduce our handcrafted beadwork and embroidered designs to an international audience that values authenticity, detail, and women-led craftsmanship. Thank you for supporting Muhradozi Sana Design — where every thread reflects creativity, culture, and care.
